Dear Yankee Fans at the Lo-Hud Yankee Blog,

Just because you can post something, that doesn’t mean you should. Sunday, during Phil Hughes’ start, most of you guys at the blog couldn’t help but run Hughes into the ground, saying, among other things, that he’s not ready, or that he’s only about a third starter.

But you see, there are numbers that some of us use to back up or represent our opinions.

My Opinion? Phil Hughes is a fantastic pitcher, who’s already showing he can handle the MLB level, and will very likely improve even more as he ages. Remember, he’s TWENTY-ONE years old.

Hughes’ rate stats: 8.7 K/9. 3.6 BB/9. 1.21 HR/9.

Just as a little hint, a certain team on the North Side of Chicago just gave the Mystery Pitcher a pretty big contract extension.

So, Phil, as an intelligent and informed baseball fan, just ignore those idiots. The real Yankee fans are glad to have you.
